International Week of the Deaf

International Week of the Deaf was first recognized and celebrated by the World Federation of the Deaf in 1958. The purpose of the International Week of the Deaf is to promote the human rights of Deaf people in Canada and around the world towards to the politicians, authorities and the general public for our achievement of Deaf people and our
concerns and issues in Deaf community across Canada.

The 2015 theme for International Week of the Deaf, announced by the World Federation of the Deaf is “With Sign Language Rights, Our Children Can!” that will focus on Deaf children and Sign language. The International Week of the Deaf is slated to schedule during the last week of September 2015.

Stayed tuned for an announcement from CAD-ASC for 2015 International Week of the Deaf in early Spring 2015.
