The Canadian Association of the Deaf-Association des Sourds du Canada (CAD-ASC) is saddened regarding the wildfire disaster situation around Fort McMurray, in Northern Alberta. Our thoughts are with the evacuees who had to leave their homes ravaged by the fire. We are aware that there are a number of Deaf people that lived in the area of Fort McMurray and they became evacuees, going to Edmonton and Saskatchewan.
The CAD-ASC supports the efforts of the Calgary Association of the Deaf and the Red Cross to assist all those affected by the wildfire. The Board requests Canadian Deaf community members to donate to the Calgary Association of the Deaf and Red Cross.
When you make a donation, please contact Vice President of Calgary Association of the Deaf: Rytch Newmiller at email@example.com, and e-transfer your donation to him with the information below:
Another option is to send a cheque payable to: Calgary Association of the Deaf, 63 Cornell Road NW, Calgary, AB T2L 0L4. Memo: Red Cross – Fort McMurray
The Calgary Association of the Deaf will collect all donations and send a cheque to the Red Cross.
Alternatively, you can also go to this link and donate directly- donate.redcross.ca
